BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Roberta Jaccheri is a registered dietitian specializing in the nutritional management of obesity, metabolic diseases, and eating disorders. For over twenty years, she has worked at the Obesity and Lipodystrophy Center of the Endocrinology Unit of the Pisa University Hospital, specializing in the nutritional management of obese patients and the follow-up of patients undergoing bariatric surgery. In addition to her clinical work, she teaches at the university and participates in national and international research projects and clinical trials in the field of obesity and metabolic diseases.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Since 2000, Dr. Jaccheri has been carrying out clinical activity at the Obesity and Lipodystrophy Center of the Endocrinology Unit 1 of the Pisa University Hospital.

She deals with the nutritional management of patients with obesity at all levels of treatment, from dietary-behavioral therapy to integrated pathways with pharmacological therapy.

She has developed particular experience in the preoperative nutritional assessment of patients undergoing bariatric surgery and in the subsequent post-surgery nutritional follow-up, accompanying the patient throughout all phases of the therapeutic process.

The professional activity also includes the development of personalized nutritional programs for patients with overweight, obesity, and related metabolic diseases.


SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY

Dr. Jaccheri has participated in numerous Phase III experimental clinical studies in the field of obesity and metabolic diseases.

In 2014 she held the role of National Coordinator of a multicenter clinical study.

She is the co-author of scientific publications and educational materials dedicated to clinical nutrition, obesity, and eating disorders.

He also carries out university teaching activities such as:

  • Teacher of the Integrated Course of Dietetic Techniques Applied to Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases
  • Tutor of the professionalizing practical internship of the Degree Course in Dietetics
