SPECIALTY DESCRIPTION Orthopedics is the medical discipline dedicated to the health of the musculoskeletal system and aims to ensure the proper function of bones, joints, tendons, and muscles. Orthopedic specialists diagnose and treat degenerative and traumatic conditions, with particular attention to osteoarthritis of large joints such as the hip, knee, and shoulder, tendon disorders, and sports medicine. Consulting a specialist is important not only to treat pain but also to prevent chronic limitations in movement and restore a good quality of life. The therapeutic approach is personalized based on the patient's needs, ranging from conservative treatments and regenerative medicine techniques to, in appropriate cases, prosthetic surgery.
